OLDER ANDERSEN PATIO DOOR SLIDER BOTTOM RAIL WOOD REPLACEMENT REPAIR PARTS
These are replacement / repair wood bottom rail and trim parts for older Andersen Anderson patio door sliders made between 1964 and 1983 per Andersen customer service. They told me they no longer made replacement panels for those sliders soI made these from cedar wood to resist rotting. I had a patio door that had rotted bottom rails and trim. My option was to buy an entirely new patio door that was made differently. This would have required removing the old patio door entirely, costing me $2300 for just the wood patio door. A vinyl clad inside and outside one would have cost over $1700. So I measured and made drawings of the rotted bottom rail and trim, and then made replacement parts. I was then able to simply remove the patio door panels to replace the bottom rails on them without having to remove the entire patio door frame from the wall. I may have pictures of the process somewhere. Note that these are NOT from Andersen, but made by me on wood working machinery. The rails are made by gluing 2 pieces of cedar together for balanced construction to minimize warping and planing to size. It worked great. The length of the rails are 56" so they are plenty long enough for a 48" or narrower panel. The thickness of the rail is 1-7/8". I have detailed drawings of the parts to verify they are dimensionally the same as your slider panel. The price is for one bottom rail and one trim piece. I have extra trim pieces and 2 bottom rails total available. Free shipping to the continental U.S.
